About The Pantomime
Cast announced for Cinderella - North Wales’ biggest and most magical family pantomime
Following the record-breaking success of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs last year, Venue Cymru this Christmas stages the biggest, most dazzling and most popular pantomime of them all - Cinderella from Saturday 11 December 2010 to Sunday 2 January 2011. An unmissable treat for adults and children alike, the enchanting tale of Cinderella will be brought magically to life in a spectacular production.
The cast of Cinderella is led by one of the country’s most glamorous actresses, Linda Lusardi who plays the Fairy Godmother. Linda is accompanied by her real-life husband, the gorgeous Sam Kane, who stars as the dashing Prince. Cinderella at Venue Cymru marks the couple’s fourteenth pantomime season together!
Linda Lusardi, former model, turned-actress, won Channel 4’s Celebrity Come Dine With Me and was also seen on the 2008 celebrity series of ITV's hugely popular skating show Dancing On Ice. As well as a long run in Emmerdale, Linda has appeared on countless other programmes including Loose Women, The Bill and Brookside.
Sam Kane has been a stalwart of musical theatre for many years and has toured the UK in shows such as Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Carousel and Boogie Nights. Last year he starred in the outrageous musical Hot Flush! which visited the Venue Cymru as part of a national tour. On television, Sam appeared alongside Linda as her long-lost-lover in Emmerdale and is known for his highly-acclaimed leading roles in Brookside and Coronation Street.
Joining Linda and Sam on stage will be the hilarious John Evans, who returns to Venue Cymru for his fourth year in a row, as the loveable Buttons. Martin Ramsdin and David Robbins take on the roles of the Ugliest Sisters that Llandudno has ever seen. Together they have one of the largest wardrobes in pantoland - with at least 10 costume changes each per performance!
With sumptuous costumes, stunning sets, an abundance of comedy and an amazing flying Pegasus, which transports Cinderella and her coach to the Ball, Cinderella is the pantomime to see this Christmas in North Wales!
Cinderella is staged by Qdos Entertainment, the world’s largest pantomime producer, who will stage 22 productions throughout the UK this Christmas
Michael Harrison, Managing Director of Qdos Entertainment’s pantomime division and Executive Producer of Cinderella, said:
“Following our hugely-successful production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs last year we are delighted to give North Wales audiences another spectacular pantomime to remember. Linda and Sam are outstanding pantomime performers and we are thrilled to be bringing them to Llandudno. No production of Cinderella would be complete without the magical scene where Cinderella swaps her rags for a beautiful ballgown with the help of her Fairy Godmother and is transported to the Ball. For this wonderful scene we have created a very special effect - an amazing flying animatronic horse.”
Cinderella runs at Venue Cymru from Saturday 11 December 2010 to Sunday 9 January 2011. Tickets can be booked on 01492 872000 or online.
